The Kalamazoo Deacons Conference is a Christian
ministry that is "Sharing Christ's love with people in need" in the
southwest Michigan community.
Some of the services provided are:
- Clothing and personal care items
- Household items
- Furniture/appliances
- Financial assistance
- Counseling - Every guest meets with a counselor who listens and is ?Christ for the moment?
- Emergency food pantry - Sponsored by Galilee Baptist Church; Monday and Thursday, 9 ? 11 a.m.)
- Employment
Readiness - Department of Human Services Work First Program, Goodwill
(MPRI), K-Pep) ? preparing the jobless for meaningful work through work
experience and exposure to a life of faith
- Approved site for individuals to fulfill community service obligations
- Connecting with congregations - Partnering with supporting churches in home mission ministry.
- Community outreach - we support the dreams and vision of residents in our low - income urban neighborhood.
All items donated to the Deacons Conference are given to guests without
cost. We also share limited financial resources with people facing
housing and utility emergencies, and, in fact, consider a variety of
financial requests.
KDC provides services to individuals regardless of race, gender,
religious affiliation or economic status. We do not require religious
participation to receive assistance.
Business hours: Monday ? Friday, 9 a.m. ? 5 p.m.
Donations: Monday ? Friday, 9 a.m. ? 4:30 p.m.; first and third Saturdays of each month 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Counseling: Walk-in guests are seen Monday ? Thursday,
9:30 ? 11:30 a.m. and 1 ? 3 p.m.
Devotions: Monday ? Thursday, 9 a.m.
